Alpine Snowsports in Aldershot has won a Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Award for the fifth year running, Rushmoor Borough Council announced on 4 August 2026. The centre, which opened in 1969, welcomes around 29,000 visitors a year.
Aldershot's dry ski slope has been recognised again in the Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Awards.
The award
Rushmoor Borough Council announced on 4 August 2026 that Alpine Snowsports Aldershot has received a Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Award for the fifth consecutive year. The centre opened in 1969 and is managed by Everyone Active as agent for the council. The council says it receives about 29,000 visitors a year.
What goes on there
According to the council, the centre offers skiing and snowboarding lessons for all levels, race training, birthday parties, donutting, holiday camps, inclusive sessions and school group visits. A parent whose son attended an inclusive donutting session for children with special educational needs is quoted as saying the staff "were amazing" and "so helpful and understanding".
Summer investment
The slope was refurbished over summer 2026. The council lists structural steel work, improvements to the misting system, a new spectator viewing deck and updated ski matting on parts of the main slope.
Coming up
The council names the Surrey Schools Championships, the England Schools Qualifier and the Snowsport South Finals among forthcoming events. It also had a community discovery weekend scheduled for 26 and 27 September, with taster sessions at £5 per person per activity and Team GB skier Charlie Guest listed as a special guest. General manager Clive Marshall, who has worked at the centre for over 40 years, said of the weekend: "The Community Snowsports Discovery Day is a great opportunity for people of all ages to come along and try snowsports in a relaxed and welcoming environment."
What it means for residents
You do not need to be a skier to benefit. Donutting and group sessions are open to families, and the inclusive sessions are aimed at people who may find other activities harder to access. If you want to try it, book through the Everyone Active website, as places on taster sessions are usually limited and must be reserved in advance.
For current session times and prices, check the Everyone Active page for Alpine Snowsports before you go.
