Aldershot Train Station: Services, Parking, Facilities and Access

What to know before you catch a train from Aldershot, from ticket office hours to the station car park.

Aldershot station is on Station Road, GU11 1HN, and is operated by South Western Railway. The ticket office is open 06:20 to 21:18 Monday to Saturday and 07:35 to 18:55 on Sunday, and there is step-free access to all platforms, a 207-space car park, 39 cycle spaces and a taxi rank.

Where trains go

SWR publishes Aldershot on two timetables: Basingstoke, Alton and Aldershot to London Waterloo and Guildford to Farnham and Ascot via Aldershot. In practice that means Aldershot has services towards London Waterloo and Alton, and between Guildford and Ascot. SWR also has route pages for Aldershot to Guildford and Aldershot to London Waterloo.

We have not quoted journey times. The SWR route pages did not show times when we checked, and timetables vary by time of day and by planned engineering work. Use the SWR journey planner or National Rail for the train you want, and check SWR's planned improvements pages for any works on your date.

Ticket office and tickets

According to SWR's Aldershot page and National Rail, the ticket office hours are:

  • Monday to Friday: 06:20 to 21:18
  • Saturday: 06:20 to 21:18
  • Sunday: 07:35 to 18:55

There are also ticket machines, and SWR sells smartcard services at the station.

Step-free access and assistance

National Rail lists step-free access to all platforms. SWR says there is level entry to Platform 1 and lifts serving Platforms 2 and 3. Accessible toilets are listed, and National Rail also lists Changing Places facilities. Staff assistance is shown as Monday to Friday 05:30 to 23:55, Saturday 05:30 to 23:55 and Sunday 07:00 to 23:00.

Station car park

SWR lists 207 car parking spaces, 4 of them accessible. Off-peak rates start at £4.70, and SWR says Blue Badge holders receive free parking with registration. Check the SWR page for current rates before you travel.

Cycle storage

SWR lists 39 cycle spaces: 3 lockers and 36 stand spaces, covered by CCTV. National Rail also lists bicycle hire.

Taxis and buses

Ash and Ash Vale

Both are also run by SWR and are close to Aldershot.

  • Ash (Guildford Road, GU12 6LX): National Rail lists some step-free access to all platforms and no lifts, a ticket office open Monday to Saturday 06:40 to 11:45 (closed Sundays), 18 car parking spaces (1 accessible) and bicycle storage.
  • Ash Vale (Station Approach, GU12 5LP): National Rail lists no step-free access to platforms, a ticket office open Monday to Friday 06:25 to 12:00 and Saturday 08:00 to 13:00 (closed Sundays), no car parking and bicycle storage.

Ticket machines are the fallback when an office is closed, and Ash lists them on site.
